Cookie Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
This policy explains how BreakSheet uses cookies and similar technology. A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Similar technology includes local storage, which saves small settings in your browser, and the identifiers advertising partners use. For how your information is used more generally, see the Privacy Policy.
1. Short version
The Site's own features use only what is needed to remember your settings. Our visit counts do not use cookies. The cookies that follow you around come from advertising, mainly Google AdSense, and you can say no to them.
2. What we use
| Type | What it does | Set by | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Settings | Remembers your choices, such as light or dark mode, card size, your cookie banner answer and whether you closed the email alerts pop-up | The Site | These are needed for the Site to remember you. Clearing your browser storage removes them |
| Visit statistics | Counts page views and clicks without using cookies or identifying you | The Site | Nothing to refuse, because nothing is stored on your device |
| Advertising | Shows ads, limits repeats, measures results and, where you agree, personalises ads using your activity across sites | Google AdSense and its advertising partners | Yes, through the cookie banner, the links below and your browser |
Exactly what the Site stores
These are kept in your browser's local storage, are never sent to us, and contain nothing that identifies you.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| bs-consent | Your ad choice (personalised or non-personalised), so the banner doesn't return on every page. | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| bs-theme | Light or dark mode, if you picked one. | Until you clear it or switch back to Auto |
| bs-team-density, bs-player-density | The card size (Large, Compact or Dense) you picked for teams and players. | Until you clear it |
| bs-checklists-seen, bs-alert-popup | For the email alerts pop-up: the last few checklists you opened (so it can wait until your second one), and whether you closed it (and when) or signed up, so it doesn't keep asking. Nothing is sent to us. | Until you clear it. A closed pop-up stays away for 30 days |
The private admin area, which only the site owner uses, sets one strictly necessary sign-in cookie (bs_admin). Visitors never receive it.
Advertising cookies. Nothing from Google loads until you answer the cookie banner. Google decides the names and lifetimes of its cookies and describes them at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
3. How to manage cookies
- The cookie banner. Where it appears, you choose personalised or non-personalised ads, and can change your answer later: .
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies can stop parts of the Site remembering your settings; the checklists still work.
- Google. Manage personalised ads at Google Ads Settings. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Industry tools. aboutads.info/choices in the US and youronlinechoices.eu in the EU and UK.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out of personalised advertising and only non-personalised ads are shown.
